Here's some piece's of trivia - Amble was opened up as a Coal Port back in 1844 and designed by Sir John Rennie (not sure if he had anything to do with the invention of Rennie's the indigestion medication
In 1984 there were 15 Seiners and 28 Cobles in the Amble Fleet.
The Harbour Dues in 1847 include the import or export of a corpse as £1.
