Here's some piece's of trivia - Amble was opened up as a Coal Port back in 1844 and designed by Sir John Rennie (not sure if he had anything to do with the invention of Rennie's the indigestion medication )
In 1984 there were 15 Seiners and 28 Cobles in the Amble Fleet.
The Harbour Dues in 1847 include the import or export of a corpse as £1.
