A regular visitor to Peterhead, but after looking down at the bay yesterday and today there were a lot more new oil industry vessels in port. Many were new to me,I did not hve a camera but one vessel stood out,the Viking Lady,a new shape oil supply vessel and also some Burbon vessels with strange bows. Its a changing world in the North Sea,be it fishing or oil. This week I have seen a great variety of vessels passing Peterhead, even the Queen Victoria.
    Hi gde

Yes, Viking Lady would certainly stand out - some shape to her when you consider her role as a Supply Ship, not what you could call conventional  ???

Turkish hull and finished off in Norway - VS 493 LNGAvant; Hull Material:Steel; Hull Connections:Welded; Decks:1 dk; Bulbous bow; FS Ice Class 1C.

Good article on her design @ http://www.ship-tech...ojects/viking2/

    Regards

    Steve E.
The Viking Lady usually works out of Kristiansund, mid norway on charter for Statoil. Runs on LNG but can also run on Gas Oil. Reportedly good boats, were a bit slower to begin with but now plod on the same as everyone else.
Also supposed to be nice and comfy for the crew.
