    did two trips on her as cadet with north star, something sticks in my mind it was a strange propulsion set it, might be another boat though
    they had those z propellors barry a bit like an azi only not retractable. and on the bridge it was like a steering wheel and you turned it the opposite way you wanted to go , a bit like an outboard motor. if i remember rightly the shaft was a strange set up as well. i could be wrong but i am sure it went up at an angle.

    thats it Terry, remember it now, had a really long shaft with about 4 pedestal bearings, that pissed oil everywhere
    thats it  barry , i did 4 trips as mate on the venture in 1996. they were a nice ship . then i went to the prince fckng thing was infested with cockroaches
    At least you avoided the Monarch! what a disaster she was!! lol
