where/when was this?
taken at Grimsby 1990s.
There's a suggestion in a photo album in the Fisheries museum in Anstruther that this may be the Orion KY
49 ft 9 inches built for A Doig of Cellardyke in 1927...
However there was a Floreat metioned on ships nostalgia
http://www.shipsnost...-ins147/cat/522
that they are not sure of
" built by Reekie, St Monans 1927 as Floreat AH32>SH15>INS147." or Think was "AH32, INS147, SH6, GY?"
Also Pete Smiths book "The Lammas Drave and the Winter Herring" tells of a Floreat III being launched by Reekies in 1934 for Teviotdales of Arbroath.. I know Pete did most of his research from local newspaper reports of the timeand I'd guess he would be right on the launch dates! there may of course have been a floreat II he didn't metion in 1927.
would be a good one to identify properly
any idea if she's still afloat?

Done a bit more digging... The Orion KY last appeared in Olsens in 1942...
then the Floreat AH 18 owned by John H Cowling Hartlepool...appears same size and age appears in next Olsens that has boat names in 1947.. Museum claims she then became SH6
Another Floreat SH15 appears simultaeneously in 1947 almanac owned by Mrs C Camnish, Filey and Others
also
Floreat II AH 30 DS teviotdale and Others and
Floreat III AH 32 AH teviotdale and others
so it is quite possible that the Floreat that appears above is the one but the Aitken built Orion as Claimed by the Scottish Fisheries Muesum
