the fashion thing wae nets is true enough, the harkass thing in the clyde a few, feck, ner two decades ago, everybody had to have a harkass hopper net, don't know why, they never shot them near ground nearestthe nets got to a bit of hard would be on the quay when they were being rug. i always thought they were sh!tty light made, tear if you looked at them the wrong way, preferred one i made myself with netting supplied by charlie flaws, who used to make all our clean nets.  that hopper net got used for nine yrs and only had the ropes renewed, from time to time it would getthe blame for lack of stuff and the harkass would go on, mending every night, had the groundsheet replaced twice,  then again i have to admit to buying one myself tho i'll admit that was thru ignorance about any other maker on my part more than anything else. bought a stewart 750 with 20ft of cover thru the same kind of ignorance, with rubbers on her, hardly ever got wet except when we, rather, i, thought there'd be a few fish on the go, ha ha, might have caught them if it had been 25yrs earlier, the wingless thing was only starting in the clyde when i stopped, tho about ten years earlier the old man had tried to get me to alter my own hopper net into a wingless net, i got as far as working out what i'd need to do before we stuck on a clean net and didn't return to hoppers for s scatter of weeks by which time the plan was forgotten about, i actually found all my drawings in red felt pen on the back of boat tickets a couple of months back, couldn't understand a thing i'd written till i found the original drawing for the net, stuck in a drawer, my kids inheritance, its about all they'll be getting, don't think my claes wid fit them.
struggle to fit these hoppers on the new boat, not much room aft between the hot tub and steamroom,

they'll live up to the original name of rock hoppers,  ricki would need a big high boom to hoist them up and keep them there, if he lowered them on the deck he'd have the rails dipping under, need to raise the waterline by three feet.,
