The vessel often carries out its crew change (British) from outside the Tyne Breakwater but on this occasion the seas were too high and the decision was taken to carry that out whilst the vessel travelled up the river. The Tyne Pilot Cutter, Norman Forster being used to transfer the crew. Full crew is 34.
