I designed and built this raft for the club. Normally the wind will eventually carry a boat to safety but not always. This has been copied for at least on other club. It is made from 2" plumbing waste pipe using standard joints and sealed with adhesive. It is also stuffed with bubble-wrap in case of leaks so no chance of sinking.
Yep Steve. There's various cleats on the raft and it just tethers to any cleat on the rescue boat. Will
Clever idea Will - so do you get a 'salvage reward'

I wish! Isn't it amazing though just how many people send boats out with flat batteries? They say, "That's funny 'cos I charged the battery only the week before last!"
Doesn't surprise me - I'm forever hearing about folk going out to take photographs and either having flat batteries or they have forgotten to bring a memory card

I'm no perfect either. I've gone out to get diesel, pulled up on the forecourt and realised that I forgot the car!!!!!! This ain't my idea of a Saturday night although usually working. I've started on Alexanders stern by the way It's looking a bit of a mess but I wonder how long it would have gone if you hadn't mentioned it Steve. Big thanks. Think I'll have a dram next.
Kind regards

Am I right in thinking that the raft is attached to the Alexanders and then used to collect the conked out boats?
