Not a real boat but I built this hull (with freelance structures) which was from a Napier's drawing. By sheer chance with the help of the late John Thompson, I found out she was the Sharlyn BA193 designed by Napier's and built at Smith & Hutton, Anstruther. She's still on the go as Spes Maris LH193. Big thanks to Dave Todd for all his help with photo's and spec'. She is still in the rebuild stage and currently working on the lighting which is easier than hiding as much of the wiring as possible.
nice model youv got there will
Had! Dan. She was a leaky boat (first build) but remedied with resin matting skin when rebuild started. She goes a fair lick with a 540 motor and big 4 blade prop to cause waves. Oak frames with obechi planking at 1:24 scale.
awright good model for your first build aye a bet she could haha
what do you use to seal around the prop shaft to stop her leakin in there

Hi Dan,
I otained the prop shaft from a well known Scottish retailer. I found that the fit was not tight enough so I fitted the shaft (stainless steel) inside somebody else's tube and got a really good fit. This does help but I also get a fair lick of vaseline into the tube then before each sail, I add more vaseline onto the outside end of the tube over the washer and propeller locking nut. It works.
