Built at Jones Buckie 1970 for Robert Clark Musselburgh
Thats a beauty , Cyril. What a lovely boat . They dont make them like that anymore.. John
Thats right John She was a bonny boat. Robert had her built after he sold me the Lothian Rose that I renamed Aquarius INS 32 Both of them were built at Jones Buckie and were very alike
Was this one of the 2 boats Andrew Clark took to Canada to show them how to seine net and ended up towing the steel boat back after the engine seized ? went into plymouth for an engineer who gave them a quote "too dear they said we'll take the boat home" and then towed it home a dawdle he said up the east coast compared to coming back from canada !!
i think the steel one was quite new when they went to canada
Was it not the Juneve 111 PD215 the steel boat that went to Canada.
This one, the McTay built steel Lothian Rose and the Juneve all went to Canada and came back again once their contracts had ended.
Showing my age , but thats what a boat should look like. Dont think any one could build em better.
when you look at this then look at the one lying in the broch all rusty to be finished off even a good coat of paint couldny make it bonny.
When you look at this class of boat and your are over 50 you have lived through a golden age of fishing and sadly never to be seen again.
Puddle jumper is right uncle rob took the steel Lothian rose and my grumpa Andrew took her above. The new steel boat did break down in the Atlantic on the way back across and was towed back via Plymouth lol 👍🏼
