    You will not get big fuel bills with this one had the 4LW in the Bonnie Lass went for weeks after filling the tanks.

    If ye had the price o' a brand new 4LW and a 2UC box in yer hip pooch the noo Bryan,ye widnae be bothered whether ye were at sea on Monday morning or no :)

    Aye Ronnie your right there  would not like the bill for it noo . over hauld it in 91 and the spares cost a fortune could have bought a new fordie for the same money but it run like a watch after its overhaul.

    "Good engines are the gardner.I did a7 year apprentice ship on the engines. I found the 5lw a bit uneven the 6lw was a lot smoother running engine. the 4lk was the one used in boats. also i did put one in a car. it was a old lagonda owened by a fair ground owner. but they were a very noisy engine the best engine was the 6lx that was the daddy of them all. :)
    Had a 6lxb on our old boat could not fault it easy on fuel :) :)

    my last boat had a 3lw with a 2-1 gardener box a very boring engine all you ever had to do to it was change oil regular. never let me down .
