Silver Cloud CN 267 Ex Mairi Elspeth Ex Marie

Silver Cloud CN 267 Ex Mairi Elspeth Ex Marie

The crew of the Carradale ring netter Silver Cloud CN 267 making the most of the tide whilst the Maid of the Mist heads off to market with the previous nights herring. Well placed at the head of Loch Goil for an early shot at dusk, they managed to paint the bottom of the boat and were looking forward to a well deserved refreshment at a local watering hold. (Not necessarily in that order!)

From left to right: Raymond Gosling Snr, Walter 'Yoya' McIntosh, John MacKinlay, Douglas 'Dugga' McIntosh, Duncan McIntosh and last but not least, the legendry Fred 'Froonky' Brownie, who reigned over the most successful period in this vessels history.

And another fine shot from you, Dunard
I must get some more scanning and posting done ???
There was no shortage of herring hauled aboard her under Fred's command (look at the fresh scales) and he was consistently high up the list of big hitters whispered about over the washing lines the following morning. Only the Jacksons seemed to be deadlier on the Kintyre side of the Clyde durng his hay-day.
Woodny like tae say what was her maist successful time Dunard.. I would reckon Tommy Anderson made mair money with her than anyone else, aye lots mair!
I'd think masel' that Tommy Anderson made mair wi her than anyone else Dunard....  Lots mair.....
