Viking Iona

Viking Iona

    Good shot Kev

Just been reading about her - http://www.vroon.nl/...Viking_Iona.pdf  - evidently she can hold up to 300 survivors on board.

    Regards

    Steve E.
they are all 300 class now steve. but they started downmanning the rigs years ago and you would be lucky if there is a hundred people on a platform now.
Lets hope its never tested for real Terry

it would be a tight squeeze with 300 folk on there, and it wouldna be to pleasant once the start gettin seasick. even worse in the wee standby boatties
your right there jonnie once one or two start throwing up it wont take long for the rest of them to follow.i watched the guy work out  how many people could fit in each survivor  space  when they converted the grampian prince and the space they allow on seat lockers and other spaces to fit your arse you would have to be about 6 stone. that would be 3 survivor spaces for me alone
i spent a whiley on the prince, terry, one of north stars finest vessels hahaha.      How 300 folk would have fitted on the likes o the gr chieftain i have no idea.

but like you say, none of the installations in the N sea have that many onboard now.
the prince was a nightmare jonnie i was on her from 96 to 98 then went in the frontier till i left in 2000
