    aye nicky-all our boats caught their fair share back in the day-these boats provided donegal with some amount of work when we had nothing.

    i mind pestering my folks to take me to killybegs when i was 15. in 1997. it was around march or april and the mackerel was west. there was some activity. i was there for 2 days and seen nearly every boat come in with a shot. the place was rockin. not just mackerel, the salve regina and the grove came in to land with big shots as well. its not even a shadow of its former self now. we were there to pick up a new net enroute to morocco in 2008 and there was boats that had hardly lowsed a rope in 3 years.

    Truer words were never spoken lads. We had it all here till we got caught up in the Spiders web called EEC..That f***ed us.  And a succession of " totally useless" ministers of Fisheries , that went to Brussels , ass licked the EEC, and sold us as they are still doing , down the river, At least "DONEGAL VOTED NO".
