His father was skipper of the Kittiwake
Johntar Willie Thompson who was an elder brother of Jimmy was skipper of the Moravia He retired at an early age and Bill Grant who was mate went skipper
I think the Casamara was skippered by Alex and sometimes Ernie Thomson another two brothers of Jimmy

Cyril, thanks for that info, I remember some of the names Jimmie mentioned to us as boys now that you mention them, must be more than 35+ years ago that me and my brothers helped J and G take the Kittiwake through the Crinan on her way to Portavogie because of ice, young men needed to put the ice protectors round her.
Aye, Jimmie could spin a yarn or two !

brought to ireland by the fish buyer hj nolan to try and develop the irish whitefish trade
Jimmy and George used to visit my parents in TT years back, more so when George retired and when Jimmy came back from Canada,
know Jimmy had Kincora, Peter's dad George the Kittiwake.
Bit weak on who had the other two boats,
Was it Peter's cousin Johnnie's (Caledonia/St Kilda) dad who had the Moravia?
Had David Thompson's book about seining, searched the house for it when I first seen this photo but no joy.
