I saw her in the 80s when she was registered GW16 with a small wheelhouse.
wheelhouse came from spes-bona 1v dawn maid.
That old girl carried hundreds of tons of stone from Ailsa Craig Skippered by Willie Geisha Sloan, then Ian Girvan. Angus McCrindle jnr bought her and I think he was the last to run the stone in her.
i used to own the ailsa lady reg no gw16 i ran her gardener 6lxb engine for two years and only problrm i had was water pump i then sold her to a gentleman in paisly who used old rope to tie her up and she sank up the paisley river. i wish i had never sold her RIP!!!!!!!!!!!
ican remember her running stone mid 60s/early 70s saw

Hello w33stevie im the guy who bought Ailsa Lady from you, I sailed her to Paisley Harbour via Arran and Rothesay, managed to get a new water pump fitted, and started working on her, I had her there for around 4 years without any problem, she never sank because of old rope, kids vandalised, and cut the ropes on the boat during the summer holidays of 2008,they moved the boat once further up the harbour wall and spikes on the wall damaged some of the planks, I think moving her from Girvan was a bad move, she sank 3 times while in Paisley Harbour, Im sad at what happened too, and hope one day will try and refloat her, we have a small club there with members who are keen on trying so watch this space, Boon.
Hi Boon this is w33stevie, sorry I have just got round to seeing your comment. A truly tragic story. Unfortunately since you're last comment, I think it will be safe to say she will never float again. I was certainly fed the wrong information to her demise and hope the gentlemen I sold her to were not too offended? I do agree tho I think maybe she should have stayed at Girvan.
