Tolley and Dougie Bain and the godawful carnation milk tin, that was worst ever, mind the time I took a pint of fresh milk aboard NG, they all wanted to know if I had put it on expenses, cheapskates wurnae init
Think thats bad jt sailed with a crowd from Greenock who only put one hole in tin so that if it couped the milk wouldn't spill
Wee Angie chip used to put it on bread and wallop into it, yuk

proper tea made in a pot and left on the stove all day to stew. not like the shite you get now

Sailed wi' a couple of hardy chiels (Jimmy Smith and Big Eddie Thompson)in Dunbar mid 60s and they were the same Terry..the tea pot sat on the coal stove the whole day and got topped up wi' fresh tea leaves and mair water every now and again...by the end o' the day ye could have run the tea intae the deck seams,it wiz like fu*kin' pitch...yon wi' a guid dollop o' Carnation milk in it?....wid have gien yer arse a dose o' the hiccups.....I can still taste the bloody stuff yet

Nothing wrong we the carnation milk great for custard
The Thoms used nothing but condensed milk very sweet
