anyone know this boat cy4 picture found in a shop in johnstone any info



    aye aye ringnet man do u know any history on this wee boat
    This boat is called the Golden Dawn, built in the 50's by the Stewarts of Grimsay for the Morrison familly, also of Grimsay. The boat is seen here at the entrance to Baymore after lifting two lobster keep boxes, the island Ronay is seen in the backround of photo. At time of photo boat was owned by John Nicholson, also of Grimsay, North uist, who fished the Monach isles.
    Did they own another one after this between 30 and 40 ft long ,worked on a creel boat out of Skye about 20 years ago also CY reg called Golden Dawn ,the Skipper at the time thought she might have done Inter Isle Ferrying at some point
    aye k232 thanks very much for ur information a friend of mine gave it to me to put on the site .he got it in a shop in glasgow if the man wanted a copy of it he would be welcome.i have heard a lot about the area you mentioned from a chap i used to work with from grimsay angus macinnes now retired from calmac he was at lobsters a bit in his younger days monach isles always came up in conversation.
