Old postcard of Oban harbour.
Blue ringer, Tudor Rose? owned by Archie and Hector MacKinnon
Just came to me the now when I was looking for something else on older Oban pics...somebody was asking a while ago about the Seton Castle that was in Pittenweem, that's her lying ahead of the Tudor Rose, was there getting done up a bit after lying derelict for a few years.Must be around 1971 that pic as the TR was there with the 112 Kelvin smashed up the time we got the Storjen.I think Douglas Macqueen the Kelvin engineer bought her after that then James Mair had her in Buckie as the Golden Sunset...don't know where she finished up.
Interesting as James Mair also around the early/ mid 70's had the Golden West ( BCK59 ) around that same time, then she was towed into Oban in 76 with seized engine, scuttled in the harbour and sold eventually to us. Small world
