Oban harbour

Old postcard of Oban.

Have a set of table mats with this on it, big coincidence being the Castle Vale and the Golden West both ended up in the river Leven at Dumbarton in the late 70's into the 80's, the Castle Vale was sold without an engine, but one was available. Owners didn't take it, they should have because it ended up in the Golden West and never missed a beat. 8TS 117 Kromhout.

Indeed there were occasions when the West towed the Castle Vale back to Dumbarton and hardly noticed, oh sorry, tempartature gauge rose 2 degrees on engine room gauge.

    Great days
