    Seen Johnashore in Tarbert last week-end, looked as fresh as he does there but maybe a tadge bit greyer, "whits doang and are thay seeing and any word of herring"
    Johntar, yes John gets about a hell of a nice fellow John I was with Porter when John bought the Mallaig Mhor
    What about James and Walter, they were all equal partners, £300 each!

    Aye Dunard,£300 each and the rest fae somewhere else..they didnae get that yin for £900 even in the 50s lol I think in the late 40s early 50s about 5 grand was the going rate for a fifty footer was it no? Seem to recall Big John Sinclair of the St.Clair's in Port Seton saying that she was five and a half in 1951,that was Weatherheads in Eyemouth....that would be just a cool fortune back then I suppose.
    Dunard in the early day I don't I'm sure need to  tell you the first words utterd when a new boat came round the quay end,  THAT'LL NEVER GET PAYED BACK she's to big.
    After the war you could buy one of them MFV  £250 if you rigged her your self,
    It may have been £900 each.
    dunard there might have been some £900 but I knew two that was nothing like the two did'nt cost £900 one was £250 £15 to get her towed to Kyle bare hull.
