    The Scalpay Isle II was later sold to Carradale where she was renamed the Mairi Bhan by Donley McMillan. She fished out of Carradale until the early 80s, first for herring then clams and prawns at the 'Mouth of the River'. She was sold to Ireland and lost shortly afterwards.
    S/ISLE was built for John Kane Dunure by millar called GIRL MARGRET sold to Scalpay round about 1960.

    Unless there were two Girl Margrets John Kanes Boat left Dunure 1969 She was skippered by Willie one shot Wilson.

    yep dunard-she came to burtonport for the gillnets-she was lost the first day at the dogs, sprang the butt of a board .the owner was telling me that they had to leave a cracking trawl winch behind them -the powers that be wouldn`t let them take it aboard as she was decommisioned.
    The Girl Margaret was neighbours with Mungo Munroe in the Dewy Rose
    she went ashore in the west loch the night of the big gale in 1968
    the boat ashore at west loch was dewy rose with named changed to girl margaret ba30 mungo munro would have valhalla by then original girl margaret became scalpay isle then mhairi bhan
    Swivel you are spot on when Mungo got the Valhalla John Kane bought the Reekie built Dewy Rose changed her name G/margret sold the Millar built G/margret to Finlay Morrison Scalpay Finlay called her SC/Isle. Do you remember the first Sc/Isle she was one of them company boat that were built by Jimmy Noble for Mallaig. there were 4 of them. Mallaig Veg she was sold to Eriskay Lady of Fatima. Mallaig Croagh went to Scalpay SC/Isle PORTER got the Mallaig Mhor Billy Finlayson got the Sweet Home which was one of them MFV'S fitted out by Jimmy NOBLE ..
    I your right swivel I meant to say valhalla I think she was the same boat as the fairwind  both built in Arbroath
