Sovereign - HL165 seen inbound to the Port of Tyne on 14th October 2008, photographed from Western Quay, North Shields (North East England).
A lovely looking 'old' fishing vessel, dating from 1936 - so that makes her 71 years old and still working
Built by Noble & Co, Fraserburgh (Scotland). Her current engine is a Gardner 6LW, 62 kw. Her home port is North Shields but she carries a Hartlepool (HL) registration number.
Length Overall:13.20 metres (43.27 feet)
Gross Tonnage:16.27
Net Tonnage:16.27
Depth Hold:1.9 metres (6.23 feet)
Maximum Breadth:4.5 metres (14.75 feet)

somebdt hasa lot o love for there boat there steve she is looking in great nick wonder how much of her is still original
Apart from the net haulers, she looks exactly the same as she was when she was in Port Seton in the 60s...even the DF loop on the wheelhouse roof is there...wonder if it still works ?
she's pretty much as built. had a look around her a while back in the royal quays, as she might be up for sale soon
been well loved and cared for, so much so that virtually every stick of timber is original

Hi All
As Mark has said - she is in very good working order and mostly all existing original parts (deckside anyway - I'm sure the engine will have been changed?). Great to see an 'antique boat' still plying a trade. If I get the chance I'll take a shot of her decking if the weather holds up tomorrow and post it to the site.

Hi All
Regards her engine - the Historic Ships site says:
'Her current engine is a Gardner 6LW, 62 kw.'
Makes you wonder if she is the oldest working Fishing Boat in the UK?
