Shonmora TT.147

Shonmora TT.147

I was told the lad that bought her and took her to Mary was found in the accommodation after that i heard that it was scrapped don’t know if this is true. Also  I’m sure Tony Burnet lost his foot in the down drive that’s when it was sold to Seaham
Still afloat in S Ireland , Drogheda, I think, with a N, Newry reg.
She was owned in Portavogie for a while.
Was she owned about 1981 in Tarbert by Ronnie something, I think he used to write in Fishing News occassionally.
I looked at buying a Shon Mora from him about that time, went to see her in Ardrishaig basin, he had a stone on the deck the size of a mini from his queenie net.
tony was walking round asda a few months ago both feet still attached. I think he works on supply boats now little bud
She was sold to Ireland from MT after Grant was found aboard her, was registered under 10m in Ireland, maybe things are smaller there lol
My Father, Archie MacGilp owned and skippered the Shon Mora out of Tarbert, He bought her from Ronnie Johnstone in 1981 and had her for around 7-8 years untill she was sold in 1988, she then headed for Shields and was due to be decomissioned as far as I can remember. Although we have since learned she was re-registered in Ireland and now works somewhere around Ayr as a potter and is painted red.
she was owned by peter greig in port seton for a short time after he had the star of faith
