River Tyne 1980s
Seine netted out of Ayr owned I think by Alec MacLeod, sold to Rothsey for the Mail Run from Greenock
She put in some gey stoorie nights on the mail run fae Ro'say, and got her sides well hammered at the piers as well...didnae miss many crossings in her time though.I think she was one of the 65ft MFVs was she no?
that'd be taken just after she was raised having sank along the quayside, Aye she was a 65ft mfv ronnie, Kelvin k6 in her at the time.
I nearly bought her, she was in the basin at bowling at the time, 2 other lads from down here beat me to it
anyone know if she's still around?

Blast from the past! This is one of the first boats I remember as a boy on visits to ayr (i remember her for the unusual wheelhouse shape also massive space behind wheelhouse I suppose for working the fly-shooting gear). Shame to see her in this state :suppose shes firewood by now?
That wheelhouse was built and fitted at Ayr shipyard. It didn't turn out the way Alex McLeod thought it would but he made plenty money with his boat.
She ended her days in Southampton renamed Emily and was broken up a couple of years ago. I posted another comment with a little more information under Terra Nova.

hi i was the one that got her of keyside and got her going again then sold on
I remember there being quite a few boats alongside that part of the Quayside during the late 70's into the 80's - all waiting to be converted/restored - all wishful thinking I reckon
