and you notice he's not scrubbing, usually he escaped up the pier when it was time to scrub of the scales, to be found an hour later with his big coupen in the herald 
A great head of hair on him then and he filled Colin Thomas's oilskins just fine after a spell in the wheelhouse of the Constant Hope.....
think that was on board ANTARES when we were working 4 boats.

cleverer than any man he ever met, he'd be hosing because somebody obviously wasn't ready for such responsibility and would need to be doing the scrubbing, knowing him he could even have given the skipper the job of scrubbing, most men being in the wheelhouse due to circumstances rather than brains was the impression he gave me (ok, it might just have been me he thought that aboot!!!) a dacent man even if he did always look at me as if i was an idiot every time i opened my mooth.
I'll speak to the big fla and see if he'll relinquish any photos of the Jasmine to make up for his indiscretions.
