A brand new Margaret Ann Weatherhead's finest all set for the herring
Cracking pic of a fine boat ... a member of the last series of ringer/trawlers & super-ringers built by Weatherhead & Blackie in the 1960s to early 70s, starting with Maryeared
I can remember her as a pile of larch and oak lying in the yard at the Old Harbour.I watched her getting built right from the keel laying to finished, and it was an amazing insight into how a wooden boat was put to-gether to see another bit added on each day you looked in...very educational,and the finished product was a beauty,all credit to the lads that built her...craftsmen indeed.
aye Ronnie, pitty digital photography wasnt on the go in them days, there would be some amazing photos eh!

Wha let you oot yer cage Beedster ?....should have got their er*e kicked whae-ever it wis 
he,s left at high tide, look closely at his fore stay to the mast ,just above his stemheid, you,ll see the iron pole that sticks up from one of the rocks that are covered at high water,,
i jist noticed that steel framework in front of the wheeelhoose again, it looks like the landing derrick is sittin on it but surely it had another purpose?

Defo Albert - an old mate of mine - always thought it a great waste of talent ( and a good brain wasted to see him go down that route) -but then ,with his intellect , they always needed his talent to get a mate/master's ticket .Anyone know if he's still around ?( or even posting on here )
