Kindred Star LH 402 and Norh Star LH224 lying in Dubar around 1965 or 66
kindred star same lines as the speedwell both built at port seton early 60s.
Only difference was the Speedwell (built 1963) had a longer wheelhouse on her than the Kindred Star (1962) The North Star and the Star of Faith(both 1958)had the same hull but the SoF(I think she was Weatherhead's first build at that yard,but I might be wrong) had the stepped wheelhouse. Tidy wee 40 footers they were too.
is this the Kindred star before the gm44 that was fitted out at Montrose Ronnie.

never ever seen the north star was she replaced by the viking star.
No Liberty,she was replaced by the Norwood,the Viking Star was Bobby Easingwood's...the Kindred Star man's oldest son.

She was in the Shetlands for years right enough,was retired but thankfully no broken up.Don't know where she is now though.Served Wattie well that wee ship,didnae owe him anything,and as for the 76 in her...he hardly needed to put a spanner to it all the years he had her.Apart from a top overhaul in Eyemouth that's all it ever had in 10 years or so.
Saw North Star bout 5 yrs ago in Troon Marina, now wi a far larger wheelhouse. to the best o ma knowledge, t early W+B builds were1958 Star of Faith, North Star, 59 Jesmond , Watchful, 60 Olive Branch, Ebenezer, Freedom II. 1961 Mary Manson, Investor M, 1962 Kindred Star, Minnie McLean, 63 Speedwell II, 64 Wistaria, Maryeared, 65 Concord, Maggie McLean, 66 Santa Maria II. Then they shifted 2 Dunbar.
